How It Works

Enroll Your Site

Pick the rate that matches how your site is used, then fill out the form. Your coverage dates are set automatically once you choose your park. A Rural Metro Fire representative follows up to confirm your membership and arrange payment.

Seasonal
$70/ site, per year

Structure on site less than 6 months a year. Temporary RVs, motorhomes, travel trailers, or fifth wheels with no fixed structure. Site fully vacant at least 6 months a year.

Annual
$160/ site, per year

Structure on site 6 months or more a year. Park models, manufactured homes, sheds, and any RV that stays on site, even if you are only here seasonally.

Storage shed on site? The Annual $160 tier applies, even if your RV is only here seasonally.

Rural Metro Fire has proudly served the unincorporated communities of Yuma County since 1971. We are a non-governmental fire department, funded by annually prepaid members, not property taxes, so the firefighters, paramedics, and apparatus that answer your 911 call are ready when you need them.

In Arizona, your property insurance does not reimburse fire department charges. Homeowners insurance covers property damage and contents, and medical insurance covers ambulance transport, but neither covers fire department response charges.

Without active coverage, a single call costs far more than a full season of membership. One season of membership is a fraction of the cost of a single response.

Fire Prevention & Suppression

Trained firefighters and apparatus respond to fires on your site at no out-of-pocket cost to active members.

Emergency Medical Response

Paramedic and EMT response to medical emergencies, which make up more than 70% of our calls. Excludes ambulance transport.

Vehicle Crash Aid & Extrication

Medical aid and extrication at motor vehicle accidents, getting people out and stabilized fast.

Technical Rescue Services

Specialized rescue capability for situations that go beyond a standard fire or medical call.

Poisonous Reptile Removal

Safe removal of poisonous desert reptiles from your site, a real and recurring need in the Yuma County desert.

Safety Reviews & Events

Annual home safety assessments and community fire-safety events, included with your membership.

Rural Metro Fire Coverage applies to your entire household. Ambulance transport is billed separately to your medical insurance.

Annual ($160): singlewides, doublewides, park models, support buildings, sheds, or any RV tied down, skirted, or on site more than 6 months a year. Seasonal ($70): an RV, motorhome, or trailer on site less than 6 months a year with no structures or storage sheds.
From the date payment is received. Payments received after October 1 take effect immediately, through the upcoming year. Current members renew on January 1 or February 1 – see your invoice for your park’s date. The 2027 membership year begins October 1, 2026.
Your entire household, for far more than fire suppression: response to medical emergencies (over 70% of our calls), rescue services, aid at motor vehicle accidents, removal of poisonous reptiles, and annual home safety assessments.
The full annual ($160) or seasonal ($70) fee is due at sign-up. Memberships can’t be transferred person to person. Once a property sells, the prior owner’s membership is voided. The fee is non-refundable.
Your membership travels with you to another site within your park, or to another park in our Discount Program. You may upgrade to an annual membership anytime by paying the cost difference.
In Arizona, property insurance does not cover fire department response. Homeowners insurance covers property damage and contents; medical insurance covers ambulance transport – but neither covers Fire Department response charges. As of September 1, 2025, no Rural Metro ambulance subscription is offered.
On a 911 medical call, dispatch sends both a fire engine and an ambulance. If a Rural Metro engine responds and you’re a member, there’s no charge for the engine medics’ care. Ambulance transport is billed separately to your medical insurance.
All Rural Metro firefighters are certified paramedics or EMTs. Dispatch sends the closest, most appropriate medic – often a fire engine, since ambulances may be on other calls – so you receive the fastest, highest level of care.
Unincorporated communities collect no property taxes for public safety. Rural Metro is a non-governmental fire department providing fire and EMS since 1948, funded by memberships rather than taxes. We receive nothing from the Fire District Assistance Tax listed on your property statement.
